My daughter has a Princess Cozy Truck like the one pictured above but I want to swap out the awful plastic tires for real rubber ones. Has anyone done this before? I’ve seen the Power Wheels conversions and I think this should be similar.

Figured I’d get some cart wheels from the tractor supply and just bolt them in place of the plastic ones. Any thoughts?

Just make sure you adjust the speedometer afterwards.

You’ll need to pull the old ones off first to see if you can use the thing’s axle. Remember that cart wheels like those need a backing to run the bearings against and then a fitting on the outside to retain them. And press on axle caps won’t do that...

I planned on taking a front wheel and axle with me to the store to make sure everything fits. I kinda figured I might have to upgrade more than just the wheels lol

Harbor Freight’s rubber wheels are reasonably cheap.

Why not just spray the plastic wheels with FlexSeal? (trollolololol).

The problem is that the wheels are hard plastic but they’re ridged like off road tires. So they don’t go smoothly on pavement and don’t get real traction on dirt, it’s the worst of both worlds lol

Real rubber tires would fix this instantly

Even though I don’t think he’s done this specific mod, this obviously calls for Luc - The Acadian Oppo

Unfortunately, it looks like he stopped posting last Summer.

I did this on a wagon a couple years ago. The inner diameter of the wheel bearing was bigger than the diameter of the axle. I found that a short length of 1/2" copper pipe was a perfect spacer.
